Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment, BIOR
The Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment of Latvia is the largest research institute in the area of veterinary medicine, public health, food safety, and fisheries in Latvia. The institute carries out research on food safety, animal infectious diseases, zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, fisheries and biological resources in aquatic environments. Beside the research activities, BIOR is a National Reference Laboratory involved in national and international monitoring and surveillance programs.
